I had Ali's two year pictures taken yesterday. She did such a good job, and they turned out SO stinkin' cute!!! Here is the link to view them! Enter my name (Jodi Lash) to experience the cuteness!
Josh always--well, almost always--gives Ali her bath each night, and part of their ritual is to sing songs together when she's drying off. She loves to sing Jesus Loves Me and You Are My Sunshine, but her favorite is Twinkle Twinkle Little Star! I get the pleasure of sitting downstairs and listening to it on the baby monitors (since the bathroom is in between the girls' room) while I'm feeding Haleigh. It really is the cutest thing in the world to listen to her cute little voice sing!!! Maybe one day she'll be on American Idol! :)
We--well, Josh--got a video of her singing one night, but this particular night she decided that she wanted to Josh to sing it instead! Have a look! (you may have to pause my silly little music player!)
Little Miss Haleigh is now FOUR months old!!! Of course, I think she gets cuter by the day! She "talks" ALL the time and giggles so much now!
She had her four month well-visit on Friday and she's weighing 13lbs and is 24 1/4 inches tall! The doctor asked me if she was rolling over yet...I told her that she had a few times, but I was pretty sure they were both by accident. Wouldn't you know it, as soon as doc layed her on her belly she rolls over! And, now she's officially rolling from her belly to her back!
I seriously feel so blessed to have these beautiful little girls in my life! I don't know what I would do without them!!!
It's been SO long since I've posted! Yikes! So much to catch up on, so little time! The short, picture verson.....I went back home for a visit a few weeks ago. I hadn't been home since Christmas!!!! It was so nice to see everyone...I miss home!!! Every day was FILLED to the max trying to run around and see everyone, but here are some highlights from our 10 day visit:
Josh's sister got married on May 16th!
I got to see my nephew, Brandon, play in one of his baseball games!!! He's awesome, definitely a natural! My Grandma turned 80!!!!! We had a little get together with some of my extended family members at a nearby park. This was the first time that most of my family had met Haleigh. Here is Grandma and Haleigh--who is the 18th of my grandparents, now, 20 great-grandchildren!!! I've had two cousins give birth since Haleigh was born! We also went up to see my other set of grandparents so that they could Also meet Haleigh!!!
I can't wait to go back! I miss home terribly!!!!!
Now that we've gotten back to VA from our visit, My sister Amy has come in to town for a short visit with us. Every day this week we've been going to the neighborhood beach that is right next to the house! Ali loves it!!! She could stay all afternoon, and probably even forget about eating lunch to stay longer!!! Haleigh isn't a fan of having her feet in the water just yet...but don't worry, I'll be working with her on her 'beaching' skills!!!
I couldn't get Ali to sit still long enough on the beach for a picture, so I grabbed one of the kid who doesn't know how to get away yet!
Other than that, the girls are fabulous! I'm constantly amazed at how fast Ali is learning!!!! She talks SO much, and just seems to be more of a little girl now! I can't believe my baby is going to be TWO next month!! It just doesn't seem possible!!!! She's FINALLY eating better for me! She will now eat meat!!!!! I took her to her pediatrition back home while we were there for him to do a weight check on her--since she hadn't gained an OUNCE the last time she was there--she's finally up to 21lbs!!!! Even though she's in the 3rd percentile, he's not concerned since she's growing and seems happy and healthy!
Haleigh is getting big FAST!!! She smiles ALL the time, and has been laughing out loud now! It's funny how your day can totally revolve around doing the silliest things to get a baby to laugh! She's been sleeping well, still--going to bed around 9 and waking at about 7am!!! Breast feeding is slowly coming to an end.....I just SUCK at it! I stopped nursing a few weeks ago, and was only pumping and giving bottles. That apparently wasn't the greatest idea as my supply is dropped dramatically! I've been supplementing with formula one bottle a day, but I still dont have enough to keep up with her and have been cutting into my frozens. I can't say as though I'm sad about this! I'll keep going, because any BM is better than none....but sheesh, I'm just not good at it! :)
Today is our Three Year Wedding Anniversary! YAY!!! I can't believe it's been that long already!
Any plans for the anniversary, you ask!? Nope!!! I thought I would run to the store to make us a nice dinner--now THAT is quite the gift, considering I SUCK in the kitchen. Turns out that Josh had to take the van to work with him today.....so, that's a no go! I did get a some pretty flowers from Josh though.
See! Isn't that the sweetest thing EVER!? It's not even a show that Ali does for the camera, she loves on Haleigh ALL.THE.TIME!!!!! Although, we did have a little, teensy, bit of jealousy come from her yesterday! When Ali woke up from her nap i was nursing Haleigh, so I took her upstairs and sat in the rocker that's in Ali's room while. Ali jumped off her bed faster than I think I've ever seen her move, she came over to the chair and said "MY CHAIR!!!!!" Um, don't think so kiddo! :) She never made a real big issue over it, but I certainly didn't get up with Haleigh until I was finished.
Haleigh also had her two month check up yesterday (two weeks late!) She's 23 inches long and 11lbs! It's 11lbs worth of CHEEKS!!! Do you see those things!? I may get my chubby baby after all! She's doing wonderful! She's even been sleeping for about 8-9 hours at night now! She's smiling a lot, and the other morning i went in to get her and found her on her back!!! **GASP!** Yes, I'm a bad mommy and I put my babies to sleep on their tummies! Go ahead, report me!!!
I can't put up a cute picture of Haleigh without putting up one of her adorable big sister!!!!
Josh and I are going to be in BIG TROUBLE when they get older! Oh boy!
My parents came out for a visit with us this past weekend. We had a great time with them, and we were sad to see them leave today! The countdown till our visit home in May has begun!!
Ali colored eggs for the first time this year and had a blast doing an egg hunt in our front yard! She and Haleigh, of course looked ADORABLE in their Easter dresses! I must say, I do have some gorgeous little girls!!! (there are way more photos posted on Facebook!)
My sister Jamie and my niece Mackenna came last thursday for a one week visit with us. I was so excited for Ali to be able to spend a lot of time with her cousin. They've had so much fun playing together!!
And to think, my sister was going to come out here WITHOUT her! I threatened her with her life--she was not about to come out here without my niece! I've also had a blast spending so much time with Mackenna!!! My niece and nephews are who I miss the most (sorry mom!)!!! :)
